I also repeated this on two different PCs running excel 2010 with identical results. However, refreshing the pivot table produced no MAX date error! The MAX date was 2009 as expected based on unchecking the 1904 date.Ī third test was to remove the MAX function from the pivot field (where 2017 was showing) so it showed all the dates in the pivot. All dates decremented 4 years as expected (2013 went to 2009). The second thing tried with the file open in excel 2010 was to uncheck the 1904 date. I can go back and forth between 20 with repeatable results. After saving the file in excel 2010 and opening again in excel 2007, everything works fine in excel 2007. If I drill down into the pivot table, the created drill down sheet shows the proper 2013 dates, nothing from 2017. After refresh, the pivot MAX date is 2017 instead of 2013.

When I open this file on another PC with excel 2010, all dates look OK until I refresh a pivot table that uses a MAX function on the date field.
I have an excel 2007 general ledger file created with 1904 date system. I experienced the same problem in a slightly different way (PC excel 2007 to PC excel 2010).
